Polydor signing Holly Humberstone has been crowned winner of the BRITs Rising Star award. She has also been named the first performer for the ceremony in London on 2/8.
Humberstone faced competition for the gong from fellow UMG acts Bree (EMI) and Lola Young (Island). Her victory marks the third win in the category for Polydor in four years, following Celeste (2020) and Sam Fender (2019). The award is supported by BBC Radio 1.
She said of the honor: “To be named the BRITs Rising Star and nominated alongside two other incredible women, with the songs that started within those four walls at home, is so mad. This year has been a wild ride and a year of firsts, and I am so grateful and thankful for everyone who has helped make this happen!”
Humberstone, who was featured in our recently published U.K. Special, is managed by Josh Sanger at Deep End Management/Closer Artists. Her agency team consists of Kirk Sommer at WME and Hayley Leaver and Angus Baskerville at 13 Artists. She signed to Polydor, Darkroom and Interscope earlier this year. To date, Humberstone has garnered more than 200m global streams across two EPs and is set to release her debut album in 2022.
